Speaking to reporters before leaving Tehran for Algiers in the early hours of Saturday, Raeisi referred to the active role of Iran and Algeria in regional organizations and the Muslim world, and said the common view and stances in support of the Palestinians’ rights and the people of Gaza are among the factors bringing the two nations closer together.
He said supporting the Palestinians of Gaza today is not just an issue of the Muslim world but humanity’s issue.
It will be discussed during the meeting of the presidents of Iran and Algeria, he noted.
The Gaza Strip has been facing a genocidal Israeli war since an Oct. 7. The Israeli onslaught has killed at least 30,228 Palestinians and injured 70,457 others.
Algeria is among Arab countries that has always unequivocally supported Palestine and rejected any attempt at normalization of ties with the Israeli regime.
