The funeral for former Hezbollah secretary general Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and another senior figures of the resistance movement Sayed Hashem Safieddine took place in Beirut on Sunday with a massive participation of people from Lebanon and 70 other countries.
Speaking at an open session of the parliament in Tehran on Tuesday morning, Ghalibaf said the huge turnout of people in the funeral procession also showcased the popular support for Hezbollah.
It sent the message to the world that standing up to the Zionist regime’s occupation, crimes, injustice and oppression is an ideology that cannot be eliminated through crimes and assassinations, he stated.
“In dear Lebanon, I saw steadfast men and women who loved the late leader of Hezbollah dearly, had no fear of the enemy whatsoever, and had pure faith in Islam, the school of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Zeynab (SA) and the cause of resistance,” said Ghalibaf, who was among those attending the funeral.
He went on to say that in the political field, Hezbollah’s display of power made it clear that the enemies are incapable of eliminating the resistance from Lebanon’s political and security scene.
