A unique five-volume Quran, inscribed over six years by two sisters from Bengaluru—Suraiyya Quraishi and Bibi Tabassum—is set to be proposed as a state gift from the Government of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabi, Only Kashmir news website reported.
The manuscript, written entirely by hand on specially prepared cloth, was unveiled during a ceremony at the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty in Ajmer Sharif.
The unveiling drew hundreds of visitors who gathered to view the manuscript and participate in prayers. The presentation took place under the guidance of Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, and included other members of the shrine’s spiritual custodians.
The calligraphic work spans 604 pages and was completed over several years as a personal spiritual endeavor by the two Indian artists.

Haji Syed Salman Chishty announced his intention to formally propose the manuscript as a diplomatic gift through India’s Prime Minister’s Office.
According to his statement, “This divine manuscript… is not just a work of religious devotion but a spiritual bridge between our nations.” He stated that the intended destination for the manuscript is the Al-Maktabah al-Qur’aniyyah in Medina.
Consultations with relevant government bodies are expected to begin soon to facilitate the proposal, according to report.
