Mahmoud Nabaviyan, First Vice Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, made the remark in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with a visiting Iraqi parliamentary delegation.
He said that in the recent war against Iran, it was not just the Zionist regime, but the entire West and the infidels against Iran, and the reason for the victory of the Iranian people was their perseverance and the presence of a leadership whose foreign policy was based on the Holy Quran.
Nabaviyan emphasized that the US cannot be trusted, and that America’s relationship with Iraq is cruel and expansionist.
“For example, the Zionist regime and America used the skies of Iraq in the recent war against Iran, but despite that, we proved that we can win over the world of infidelity with unity and resistance.”
He proposed forming a joint committee between the two parliaments of Iran and Iraq for mutual understanding and consultation.
Jabbar kanan, deputy chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Iraqi House of Representatives, and other members of the Iraqi delegation congratulated the victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the Zionist regime and the United States in the recent war, and offered condolences on the martyrdom of a number of Iranian commanders and citizens in this war.
