The closing ceremony was held on Saturday evening at the initiative of the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance at the Sanduto Conference Center in Johannesburg.
It was attended by high-ranking officials, ambassadors of countries, diplomats, and representatives of Islamic organizations.
The ceremony received extensive coverage by domestic and international media.
Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs Sheikh Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh stated in a speech at the ceremony, which was delivered by Awad bin Sabti Al-Anzi, the deputy minister of Islamic affairs, that his country holds international and domestic Quran memorization competitions and has established the King Fahd Quran Printing Complex to translate the Quran into different languages.
Emphasizing that the Holy Quran is the source of honor and pride of the country, he called on the participants to adhere to the Quran, act on Quranic teachings, and correctly understand its concepts, away from extremism and prejudice.
The final stage of the contest had begun on Thursday with the participation of 44 contestants from 29 countries.

Twelve people won top positions in this competition, nine of whom were in the fields of memorizing the Quran, and three were introduced as top performers in the field of memorizing the Prophetic Sunnah (Hadith).
The total prizes for this competition were 300,000 Saudi Riyals, which were distributed among the top performers in various fields at the closing ceremony.
