Meeting in Tehran Discusses Operational Plan to Train 10 Million Quran Memorizers

IQNA – A meeting was held in Tehran on the ‘Operational Plan and Roadmap to Train 10 Million Quran Memorizers’.

It was organized by the Steering Committee of the National Quran Memorization Project.

The participants included Abolfazl Khoshmanesh, an expert and university professor; Mohammad Mehdi Bahrololum, secretary of the Steering Committee of the National Quran Memorization Project; Morteza Khedmatkar Arani, director general of the Culture Ministry’s Office for Educational Planning, and Mehdi Shokri, head of the National Secretariat for Quran Memorization.

Referring to the presence of university professors, current and former Quranic managers of the country, and a group of Quran memorizers in this meeting, Bahrololum stated that its goal was to achieve an operational and evaluable plan.

He emphasized that the path of holding such meetings will continue, and in the next steps, the opinions of elites and experts in Quran memorization will be used.

He also said that the growth of the Quran memorization movement in the country requires a serious leap in order to chart a clear and forward-looking path to achieve the goal of training 10 million Quran memorizers.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said in a speech in 2011 that the society should take a direction so that at least 10 million people learn the Holy Quran by heart.

After that speech, related Quranic bodies in the country devised a plan, called National Quran Memorization Plan, aimed at promoting memorization of the Holy Book and training 10 million memorizers.
