Saudi Collector Preserves 214 Rare Qurans Over Four Decades

IQNA – A Saudi citizen has spent 40 years collecting rare Qurans, amassing a total of 214 copies, each with its own unique history.

 

Hussain Ourfali, the collector, shared his story with Al Arabiya, explaining his deep connection to the holy book.

"Each of these Qurans has a special story," he said. "I have collected the first machine-printed Quran in the world, which consists of 60 pages."

Ourfali also owns a manuscript penned by one of the most renowned calligraphers in the Islamic world. "This particular Quran is over 1,200 years old," he noted.

When asked about his motivation, Ourfali said his passion stems from a desire to serve the Quran and preserve its history. "I have a deep enthusiasm for collecting these rare copies," he added.
