On Monday, June 16, the air defense units of the Armed Forces shot down an F-35 fighter jet belonging to the Zionist regime in Tabriz, Majid Farshi, the Director-General of Crisis Management in East Azerbaijan Province said.
Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, he also said that the Israeli regime, in its latest act of aggression, targeted two military sites in the southern and southwestern parts of Tabriz earlier on Monday.
Farshi emphasized that relative calm prevails in Tabriz, attributing it to the bravery and efforts of the region’s air defense and military forces.
Despite three separate attacks by the Zionist regime on southern, western, and surrounding areas of Tabriz, he noted that thanks to the vigilance of defense forces and local fighters, stability has been maintained across the province.
Farshi praised the alertness and preparedness of air defense units, stating that their efforts have ensured public safety despite external threats.
He also reported that the number of martyrs from the Zionist regime’s attacks on East Azerbaijan has risen to 35, with a citizen martyred in the latest assault.
The Israeli regime initiated an unprovoked war against Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential areas since Friday.
