IQNA – The foreign ministers of 20 Arab and Islamic countries condemned the Zionist regime’s attacks against Iran.

The foreign ministers of 20 Arab and Islamic countries in a joint statement on June 16, 2025, condemned the Zionist regime’s attacks against Iran.

In a joint statement, these Arab and Islamic countries, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Pakistan, Bahrain, Sudan, Qatar, Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Oman, Turkey, and Mauritania, also denounced all of the actions of the Israeli regime that violate international laws and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

They emphasized the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations, the principles of good neighborliness, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.

The foreign ministers expressed deep concern over this dangerous escalation, which has serious consequences for the security and stability of the entire region,

They stressed the need to halt Israel’s hostile actions against Iran, particularly at a time when the Middle East faces rising tensions.

They affirmed the importance of de-escalation efforts to achieve a ceasefire and comprehensive calm, and highlighted the necessity of ridding the Middle East of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, in accordance with relevant international resolutions, without discrimination,

The top diplomats also emphasized the urgent need for all regional countries to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Their statement further stressed the importance of not targeting nuclear facilities under IAEA safeguards, as this would constitute a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian law (based on the 1949 Geneva Conventions),

They referred to the need for a swift return to negotiations as the only path to a lasting agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.

The foreign ministers said the only solution to regional crises lies in diplomacy, dialogue, and adherence to the principles of good neighborliness, in line with international law and the UN Charter, adding that they believe the current crisis cannot be resolved militarily.

The Israeli regime initiated an unprovoked war against Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential areas since Friday.

In a legitimate response to the atrocities, Iran launched Operation True Promise III, attacking Israeli targets with ballistic missiles and drones.
