IUMS Secretary General Sheikh Ali al-Qaradaghi issued a statement in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the protecting the blood of the children, women, and men of Gaza in the face of the Israeli regime's genocidal war is the responsibility of the Islamic Ummah.
Following is the text of Sheikh al-Qaradaghi’s statement:
- Yes, the blood of the children, women and elderly of Gaza is also on the shoulders of our nation.
- Jihad of any kind to save them is obligatory on our governments.
- Stop the famine in Gaza... Stop the genocide now.
I call on the governments of the Islamic Ummah and all capable individuals of Muslim nations to launch an all-out Jihad of every kind - with money, lives, words, and deeds - to save the lives of the innocents remaining in the suffocating siege and systematic genocide in Gaza.
What is happening in Gaza today is not just a war, but a full-scale crime: a complete siege, systematic starvation, and mass killing of civilians, to the point where Gaza has become a prison without food, medicine, or water.
Anyone who fails to support these oppressed people while they are capable of doing it has betrayed the covenant of brotherhood and religion and is subject to the threat of God, who said: “And the angels who take those who wronged themselves will say: ‘In what condition were you?’ They will reply ‘We were oppressed in the land.’ They (the angels) will say: ‘Was not the earth of Allah wide enough for you in order that you migrate in it?’ Those, their shelter will be Gehenna (Hell), an evil arrival.” (Verse 97 of Surah An-Nisa)
God also said: “Stop them. They must be questioned.” (Verse 24 of Surah Saafaat)

This is a decisive moment between shame and victory, between defeat and duty. A nation that does not move for Gaza today will lose its honor before it loses its place.
O Muslim Ummah, help Gaza now with everything you have, because bloodshed will not wait, hunger and famine will not give respite, and lives are irreplaceable.
