IQNA – A former Iranian lawmaker has called on the Muslim world to unite against the Israeli regime’s “inhuman siege and genocidal policies” in Gaza, urging Islamic countries to break their silence and take collective action.

Muslim World Urged to Take United Stand Against Israeli Aggression in Gaza

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mohammadreza Mirtajodini, political analyst and former member of the Iranian parliament, said in an interview with IQNA that the Muslim world is facing a full-scale assault from the Zionist regime and its Western allies, particularly the United States.

“One clear example of this aggression was the 12-day aggression waged by Israel against the Iranian nation. But Iran, with national unity and steadfastness under the guidance of its leadership, delivered a powerful response that stunned not only Israel but the entire world,” he said.

He called on the Islamic world to emulate Iran’s model of unity and resistance: “The Muslim world must adopt a united and serious stance against the Zionist regime’s blatant crimes, especially in Gaza. Israel is using hunger, siege, and massacre as weapons—these are crimes against humanity that have shaken the conscience of the world.”

Mirtajodini stressed that now is the time for the 57 Muslim countries to take meaningful action. “If Islamic nations, along with free nations and awakened consciences worldwide, join forces, they can break this inhumane blockade,” he said.

Referring to the heartbreaking scenes from Gaza, Mirtajodini said, “Innocent children are dying while waiting in food lines. More than two billion Muslims are watching this tragedy unfold. Each day, dozens are martyred in Israeli airstrikes, while many more die from hunger. This should awaken the human conscience.”

He questioned the silence of the international community: “If they don’t act now for humanity, when will they? A united move by the Islamic world and freedom-loving nations can overcome any power.”

He reiterated the importance of Islamic unity as a long-term strategic policy, adding, “Islamic unity means this: all Muslims standing together to support the oppressed people of Gaza, at the very least by ensuring access to food and ending the humanitarian siege.”

His remarks come amid growing international alarm over the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza. The UN and groups such as UNICEF warn of mass starvation and disease. On Tuesday alone, at least 15 Palestinians, including four children, died of hunger, while Israeli strikes killed 81 more.

A joint statement by aid organizations including Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and Oxfam said, “Mass starvation is spreading. Doctors report record rates of acute malnutrition, especially among children and older people. Adults are collapsing from hunger and dehydration.”

They warned that symbolic aid efforts cannot replace state responsibilities, urging governments to act before, as they said, “there are none left to save.”

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 59,106 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed, and over 142,500 others wounded, since October 2023 in Israel’s ongoing aggression on the besieged territory.
