The remarks come as more than 64,300 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023 in the Gaza Strip, nearly half of them women and children. Thousands remain missing under rubble, while the wounded number over 162,000.
Speaking to IQNA, Hasanali Akhlaghl Amiri said, “With the crimes committed by the illegitimate Zionist regime over the past year in Gaza, Palestine, and across the Islamic world, Muslims now more than ever feel the need for unity.”
He argued that if Muslims had held firmly to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and centered their common values, neither the Israeli regime nor the United States would have dared to target the Islamic world.
“Today, if we say that the cohesion, unity, and solidarity of the people is even more powerful than an atomic bomb, we would not be exaggerating,” added the MP.

The lawmaker cited the heavy civilian toll in Gaza, noting that unity among Muslim nations is not only an Islamic principle but also a vital need for humanity today.
He also criticized what he called the “shameful silence” of some Muslim leaders in the face of Israel’s war crimes. According to him, such inaction has contributed to the regime’s strength.
“In Gaza, the defenseless people are victims of the Zionists’ crimes, yet some Islamic governments not only remain silent but also ignore their Islamic and even national ideals for the sake of ties with aggressors,” he said.

The MP warned that continued political, economic, and security relations with Israel by certain Muslim-majority states would be remembered as a “stain” in history.
His remarks echo broader calls across the region for unity as Palestinians in Gaza continue to face airstrikes, shortages of basic supplies, and mass displacement.
