AI-Generated Illustration Exhibition Showcased at Imam Reza Shrine
The exhibition, organized by the West Asia section of the Office for Non-Iranian Pilgrims’ Affairs of Astan Quds Razavi (AQR), features selected works from the first international event on “AI-powered illustration art,” Atabe News reported on Monday.
The showcase coincides with the final ten days of Safar, the second month of the Islamic lunar calendar, which holds religious significance for Shia Muslims.
According to organizers, the event was held in partnership with Hodhod Media Agency to explore ways of presenting the teachings of Imam Reza (AS) through new technologies. Artists from Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon participated, contributing works aimed at fostering dialogue through digital and creative expression.

The exhibition covers a range of themes, including depictions of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), the sister of Imam Reza (AS), aspects of the Imam’s life and teachings, concepts of charity, shrine architecture, honoring pilgrims, and the Karamat Ten-Day Celebrations.
Organizers reported that hundreds of entries were received from countries including India, Pakistan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Iran. After technical and content review, 147 submissions were chosen for display.
The selected pieces have been printed and installed at the entrance of the Dar al-Rahmah Portico of the shrine, giving visitors what organizers described as a blend of tradition and technology.

The Imam Reza (AS) Shrine, located in Mashhad in northeastern Iran, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Shia Islam. Millions are expected to visit the shrine this weekend to mark the martyrdom anniversary of the Imam.
