Final Communiqué of 39th Islamic Unity Conference Stresses Unity as a Duty to Be Practiced

The scholars in this conference issued the final communique highlighting necessity of unity in face of the enemies and putting an end to the ongoing Israeli atrocities in the region, reported Taqrib News Agency.

The statement said, “Today, Islamic unity has become an undeniable necessity in the field of action, and a consensus among Islamic countries on the need to adhere to and commit to it is forming.”

It added, “After holding nearly forty conferences, today we are witnessing the holding of Islamic unity conferences with similar titles in Islamic countries, and the Islamic Republic of Iran is not the only country that has raised the flag of unity and emphasized it.”

Another part of the statement noted, “Cultivating moderate, rational, far-sighted personalities is a fundamental and serious mission on the shoulders of religious scholars, religious elites, and thinkers of the Islamic world.”

It said, “Religious elites emphasize the ethics of dialogue, wise tolerance, the synthesis of hearts, and the strengthening of critical rationality so that the Islamic nation can reach new horizons of spiritual unity and civilizational synergy beyond the plurality of schools of thought and traditions” and continued, “This is the cornerstone of the formation of a new Islamic civilization and a platform for overcoming current crises and confronting the divisive projects of the enemies.”

The participants stressed importance of family in view of Islam and said, “In the logic of Islam, the family is "the center of human life and the guardian of divine and moral values"; a place where love, faith, responsibility, and the spirit of cooperation are passed on to generations.”

They continued, “Strengthening the foundation of the family, comprehensively supporting youth against cultural invasions and moral deviations, and transmitting the spirit of "faithful brotherhood, social solidarity, and civic responsibility" to future generations is a fundamental necessity for the continuation of the life of the Islamic nation and the realization of a new Islamic civilization.”

The participants warned against efforts to divide Muslims and said, “Sowing sedition and fanning the flames of discord are the most dangerous tools of the enemies to weaken and shatter the unity of the Islamic Ummah. The Holy Quran has mentioned sedition as a greater calamity than murder: “And sedition is more severe than murder.”

The statement warned, “Throughout history, colonialism and global arrogance have tried to exploit religious and ethnic divisions to create a breach in the united front of Muslims. Insulting the sanctities of Islamic religions, inciting sectarian feelings, destroying sacred symbols, and labeling them as Takfiri are just some of these organized seditions.”

The Muslim scholars called on the Islamic Ummah to strengthen collective insight, historical awareness, and faith solidarity by strengthening the culture of elite dialogue, the formation of public hearts, critical rationality, and field convergence, and block the path of penetration of divisive currents.

The statement described Palestine as the compass of right and wrong in a world full of darkness, saying, “The oppressors of the world have joined hands and committed a widespread and open genocide in front of the eyes of the whole world. The criminal Zionists have whitewashed the faces of the oppressors in history; they have dropped explosives seven times the size of Hiroshima's atomic bomb on the innocent people of Gaza; They destroyed houses, schools, hospitals and mosques; they martyred children, women, the elderly, aid workers and journalists and called it defending the homeland. This war crime awakened the free people of the world to defend oppressed Palestine and the besieged and defenseless people of Gaza by emphasizing unity arising from common human values.”

The scholars emphasized, “The most important achievement of the Al-Aqsa Storm, which began on October 7, was that it exposed the evil face of the infamous Israeli regime to the entire world, and its sinister plan to create a Greater Israel. This event united the ranks of Islamic countries, dispelled misconceptions about internal competition in the Islamic world, and made everyone focus on the common Zionist enemy.”

The statement also touched upon the Israeli atrocities against Iran saying, “The 12-day imposed war, despite the irreparable losses and the martyrdom of more than a thousand innocent citizens, women, children, the elderly, etc., which the Islamic Republic paid as a cost to defend the oppressed Palestinian nation and its own nation, also imposed unprecedented losses on the treacherous enemy.”

It said, “The false grandeur of the usurper regime's Iron Dome collapsed with Iranian missiles, The vulnerability of the Zionists became apparent to the entire world, Islamic-Arab dignity was revived, as well as the flight of investors from the occupied territories, the suspension of flights to Tel Aviv and Haifa, the cessation of production and exports, internal discontent and fear due to the ineffectiveness of preventive warnings, territorial insecurity of usurping immigrants, reverse migration, international discredit, the loss of tens of billions of dollars, the media fiasco, the collapse of the normalization plan and the deal of the century, and the global consensus against the Zionist regime all indicate the increasing trend of Israel's decline.”

The participants in this conference strongly condemn the Zionist regime's attack on the people of Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Qatar and declare: From all Islamic countries that stood alongside the countries targeted by this regime's aggressive attacks in confronting the Zionist occupying regime from October 7 until the imposed 12-day war and thereafter, and condemned the barbaric actions of the occupying regime and its supporters, they express their appreciation and gratitude and call on Islamic and Arab countries to take effective steps by taking practical measures, severing political, military, and economic ties with the occupying regime, and to rush to help the oppressed people of Palestine and Gaza in an objective and real way.

The 39th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference entitled “1500th Birth Anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, Prophet of Mercy and Islamic Ummah” issued the statement at the end of three-day work with hundreds of Shia and Sunni scholars from across the world of Islam in attendance.
