The recent Israeli aggression against Qatar was not carried out without the prior consent of the Americans, Khawaja Asif said during an interview with Pakistani news channel Geo News on Tuesday, following the Arab-Islamic emergency summit in Qatar, which was held in response to the Israeli regime’s strikes against leaders of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in Doha last week.
The Pakistani minister urged Muslims to “recognize friendly enemies” and “overcome common challenges” stressing that “they should form an Islamic NATO.”
Asif also pointed out the shift in public opinion in the Western world, noting that even in the United States, there is growing opposition to Israel.
He said Israel launched the attack against Hamas leaders “with the consent of Washington”, warning that “we will witness its consequences in the near future.”
Asif further emphasized the American involvement in the emergence of al-Qaeda, and the CIA's role in bringing the former leader of the Takfiri terrorist group, Osama bin Laden, from Sudan to the region.
In his remarks, he touched on the ongoing developments in Syria, particularly the regime change, describing them as an indication of America's tacit approval.
He also emphasized the need for Muslims to establish a military alliance akin to NATO, with the primary goal of mutual defense rather than targeting a specific country.
On September 9, the Israeli regime launched missiles at a residential area in Doha, targeting Hamas’s leaders, who were meeting to discuss a proposal by US President Donald Trump for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Top Hamas leaders survived the attack; however, five members of the Gaza-based resistance group and a Qatari security officer were killed.
Qatar, along with the US and Egypt, has been a mediator in negotiations to end the Israeli war on Gaza, which has killed at least 64,964 Palestinians, mostly women and children, since October 2023.
