IQNA – An expert on West Asia affairs emphasized that only cooperation between Islamic and Arab countries can contribute to stable security and stability in the region.

Asghar Zarei, an Iranian expert on West Asia affairs

Speaking to IQNA, Asghar Zarei said the mirage that the West paints with the promise of security, stability and cooperation with governments like the United States of America, Europe and the fake Zionist regime is nothing but a deception and cannot bring any prospects for stable security and real stability in the region.

He considered the Israeli regime’s recent attack on Doha as a very dangerous and terrorist act and said, “The highly dangerous act that the regime carried out in attacking Doha, the capital of Qatar, with the aim of assassinating senior Hamas officials shows that this regime, in its essence, pursues the assassination of statesmen or officials of governments or opposing political movements, and there is fundamentally no rule or standard for it.”

He accused Israel of disregarding international law. “The violation of international law, the territorial integrity, independence, and national security of any country is not important to this regime,” Zarei stated, adding that with support from the US and European nations, Israel feels “bound by no rules or standards.

The analyst also questioned the choice of Qatar as a target, given its role as a key mediator in the region. “Qatar has been one of the main countries in the mediation talks between the resistance forces and the Zionist regime,” he said. “At this juncture, the Zionist regime put the holding of negotiations on the agenda as a trap and, as soon as it learned of the presence of senior Palestinian and Hamas officials in Doha, targeted their residences and meeting places.”

Zarei also pointed to Western involvement in the attack on Qatar, which created a “ridiculous spectacle”.

“Even tankers from the British government took off from Doha and refueled the Israeli fighter jets,” Zarei stated. “Then the colonial British regime condemns this move and attack by the Zionist regime. This is a ridiculous and very funny display that we see in the behavior of European and American statesmen.”

According to Zarei, the ultimate goal of these actions is the realization of the “sinister dream of ‘Greater Israel’”.

He argued this should be a “big lesson for countries in the region, especially Arab countries, to know that trusting and relying on the fake Zionist regime, the White House, and Europe will yield no achievements on the path to independence and sustainable security for them.”

When asked about the potential for a coordinated Islamic response, Zarei was pessimistic. “I do not think any serious reaction will happen from the Arab countries,” he said. “Among the 22 member states of the Arab League, perhaps only one or two countries, even then only to the extent of closing an embassy or formal actions, may show a reaction.”

Zarei concluded by stating that the Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently argued that only cooperation between Islamic and Arab countries can lead to security. “Any foreign intervention, from the United States to European countries that have established numerous bases in Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, can never bring them real security,” he said.
