Meeting Discusses Holding 9th Nat’l Group Quran Competition for Students in Iraq

IQNA – Preparations for the 9th national group Quran competition for Iraqi university students are underway by the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine.

A delegation from the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine visited the University of Karbala to discuss organizing the 9th national group Quran competition for Iraqi university students.

 

It will be held in cooperation with the Faculty of Islamic Sciences of the University of Karbala.

A delegation from the Dar-ol-Quran Center visited the University of Karbala with the aim of exploring ways of cooperation, coordination, and preparation for holding the contest.

According to Wassam Nadhir al-Delfi, head of the Quranic Media Center of the Astan, the delegation met with Sabah Wajid Ali, president of the University of Karbala, and Muhammad Hussein Al-Tai, dean of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences.

He noted that in this meeting, the organizational and technical aspects of the competition were discussed and reviewed.

The two sides agreed to hold the Quranic event from November 23 to 25, 2025, he added.

At the end of this meeting, the delegation presented the president of Karbala University with a plaque of appreciation and gratitude for his continuous efforts and unwavering support for joint Quranic activities between the two parties and his active participation in the success of previous Quranic courses and circles, al-Delfi stated.
