Two Holy Mosques Record 122m Visitors During Ramadan 2025

IQNA – More than 122 million visitors gathered at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina throughout the holy month of Ramadan, Saudi authorities say.

This is according to Eng. Ghazi Al-Shahrani, CEO of the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Al-Shahrani reported that 16,558,241 individuals performed Umrah, while the Grand Mosque welcomed 92,132,169 worshippers. Meanwhile, the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina saw 30,154,543 visitors.

Ramadan is considered a particularly significant time for Muslims to perform Umrah, a non-mandatory pilgrimage, due to its spiritual rewards.
