Emphasizing the strategic role of the Quran in solving individual, social and political problems of the Islamic Ummah, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Ziaeddin Aqajanpour said the cure for all human pain lies in the Quran, but unfortunately, acting upon this divine book’s teachings has been weakened.
Today, the cry of the oppressed of the world is heard, but the Islamic Ummah does not react to these oppressions, he deplored.
The Quran has clearly stated the solution to confronting oppression, defining the boundaries of friendship and enmity and standing up against the oppressors, but the problem is that the Quran is among us, but it is not being practiced, he added.
Hojat-ol-Islam Aqajanpour made the remarks at a gathering held in Tehran on Friday to honor Quran teachers of the Defense Ministry.

Citing a Hadith from the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that the best among Muslims is the one who learns the Quran and teaches it to others, he underscored the important role of Quran teachers and those who promote the Holy Book in society.
The cleric also highlighted the growing trend of Quranic activities in Iran’s Defense Ministry, saying it as 18 active specialized Quranic schools.
He also said that there are more than 7,400 Quran memorizers among the ministry’s staff, 229 of whom have learned the entire Quran by heart.
