Innovation in Iranian Qaris’ Recitation Theme of Upcoming Quranic Meetings
“Requirements for Innovation in the Recitation of Iranian Qaris” is the theme of the gathering.
According to the Communications Department of the Supreme Quran Council, the specialized meetings of distinguished experts, reciters, and memorizers of the Holy Quran are one of the country’s major Quranic events, which this year, with the 20th edition, will mark the second decade of its activity.
Mohammad Taqi Mirzajani, Deputy for Education, Research and Communications of the Supreme Quran Council, said that in past meetings, various topics, often related to the country’s recitation community, were on the agenda.
The expression of satisfaction by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution with the topics raised in these meetings is indicative of the effectiveness of this scientific and specialized Quranic movement, he stated.
Mirzajani added that at the beginning of the last month of Ramadan, the leader outlined a sublime vision for the Quran experts and reciters of the country, and observing the growth that has occurred in professional recitation over the years, encouraged reciters to invent new melodies in recitation.
Accordingly, the main topic of the 20th specialized meeting of Quran experts, reciters, and memorizers has been determined as “Requirements for Innovation in the Recitation of Iranian Qaris”, he noted.
“In another part of the meeting, we will examin the requirements related to the character and appearance of Quran reciters and their participation in social activities.”

He announced that this meeting will be held in November of this year and said Quranic researchers and experts are invited to submit their articles, plans, and ideas on the designated topics to the Supreme Quran Council by mid-October at the latest.
