In the gathering, which was held by the Dar-ol-Quran al-Karim of the Astan Quds Razavi in the portico of Dar al-Hujjah of the holy shrine, religious expert Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Faizabadi explained parts of the twentieth supplication of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, saying many of the supplications of Imam Sajjad (AS), including this supplication, begin with blessings upon Muhammad (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
He said the secret of repeating Salawat in the prayers of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh is that Imam Sajjad (AS) wants to point out that after the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the only people we should rely on and follow in our life’s path are Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
The cleric added, “We should make the lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) our model and follow them in all matters of life, including marriage, married life, child-rearing, and how we treat people in society.”
He went on to say that in this noble prayer, Imam Sajjad (AS) has mentioned some moral virtues, including responding to evil with good, maintaining ties of kinship, speaking well of someone who speaks ill of us behind our back, thanking others for their kindness, and forgiving someone who has done us harm.
