Islamic Bank to Cooperate in Holding Al-Azhar Quran Contest

IQNA – Al-Azhar Grand Mosque’s third annual Quran competition in Egypt will be organized with the cooperation of an Islamic bank.

The Quran memorization competitions will be held under the supervision of Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the imam of Al-Azhar, and in cooperation with the Faisal Islamic Bank, An-Naba website reported.

Abdul Munim Fuad, the General Supervisor of Scientific Activities at Al-Azhar, said in this regard that the competition is for different age groups, and to register for it, those interested can visit Al-Azhar’s official website.

This competition is a valuable opportunity to test the participants’ ability to memorize the Holy Quran and strengthen their Quranic skills, he added.

Meanwhile, Hani Awdah, the custodian of Al-Azhar Grand Mosque, noted that in this competition, audio and video technologies will be used to evaluate the participants in order to ensure transparency and fairness.

He added that more than one and a half million Egyptian pounds have been earmarked for the top performers in the competition in different age groups.

According to the report, memorizing the entire Quran with Tajweed for the 22-28 age group, memorizing the entire Quran with Tajweed for the below 15-year-old age group, memorizing two-thirds of the Quran for the below 12-year-old age group, and memorizing one-third of the Quran for the below 10-year-old age group are among the different categories of the competition.

Registration will continue for 10 days through the official Al-Azhar website, and exam locations have been set up in different governorates to facilitate the participation of memorizers from all over Egypt.
