According to the University of Tehran’s public relations office, the latest report by the Islamic World Science and Technology Citation and Monitoring Institute (ISC) has recognized and introduced it as one of the top ten universities in the Islamic world.
The main criterion for entering the university rankings is having at least 500 degrees registered in the Web of Science (WOS) database between 2020 and 2022, and Iran ranks second in the number of universities in this ranking system after Turkey with 138 universities.
A number of other Iranian universities, including Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Sharif University of Technology, Tarbiat Modarres University, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Amirkabir University of Technology, Isfahan University of Technology, Iran University of Medical Sciences, and Tabriz University of Medical Sciences are also among the universities that rank below 50.
Founded in 1934, the University of Tehran is a public collegiate university in Iran, and the oldest and most prominent Iranian university.
