The convoy comprises Quran reciters and memorizers from Iran and 13 other countries.
Seyed Mohammad Mojani, head of the Quranic Activities Working Group of the Cultural Committee of the Arbaeen Headquarters, said that so far, more than 200 Quranic gatherings and programs have been held by the Imam Reza (AS) Convoy for Arbaeen pilgrims in Iraq.
He pointed out the presence of Quranic propagators on the Arbaeen route and said they act as part of the “Life with Verses” project.
They explain the concepts of the Quran, interpret selected verses, and convey Quranic messages to the pilgrims, he noted.
Every day, a group of Quran reciters from the convoy hold Quranic programs in the city of Hilla (Babil Province) as well as in the Moukebs (service stations) located on the routes leading to Karbala, he stated, adding that the programs are warmly welcomed by pilgrims.
“These programs not only help to promote the culture of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), but also enrich the spiritual atmosphere of the Arbaeen walk,” Mojani said.
He expressed hope that by continuing these cultural activities, the divine messages of the Holy Quran will reach the ears of all devotees of Imam Hussein (AS).
The Arbaeen mourning ceremony, which falls on August 14 this year, is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
It marks the 40th day after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), Imam Hussein (AS).

Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.
The pilgrims, mainly from Iraq and Iran, travel long routes on foot to the holy city.
Iran also sends a Quranic convoy to Iraq during the Arbaeen procession.
The members of the convoy perform different Quranic and religious programs, including recitation of the Quran, Adhan (call to prayers), and Tawasheeh, on the road between Najaf and Karbala and elsewhere during the Arbaeen march.
This year’s convoy operates under the title of Imam Reza (AS) Convoy.
