Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mostafa Hosseini, the secretary of the Council for the Development of Quranic Culture, made the remark in an interview with IQNA at the Arbaeen Quranic Moukeb on the Najaf-Karbala route in Iraq.
He said Arbaeen shows us its hidden potentials in the social and resistance spheres, especially in the field of promoting Quranic knowledge.
The representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Zanjan province added, “For several years, we have been witnessing the growth of Quranic activities on the Arbaeen route.”
A large volume of diverse Quranic activities are carried out for Arbaeen pilgrims on this route every year, Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini noted.
The companionship of the Quran and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is becoming more and more evident day by day during the Arbaeen procession, he stated, describing Arbaeen as the gathering of the armies of Imam Zaman (may God hasten his glad advent).
Arbaeen is a religious event observed by Shia Muslims on the fortieth day after the Day of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the third Shia imam.

It is one of the largest annual pilgrimages in the world, with millions of Shia Muslims, as well as many Sunnis and followers of other religions, walking to Karbala from various cities in Iraq and neighboring countries. The day of Arbaeen 2025 fell on Thursday, August 14.
This year, the Arbaeen procession has seen a variety of Quranic programs.
Like previous years, Iran has sent a Quranic convoy to Iraq during the pilgrimage.
The members of the convoy perform different Quranic and religious programs, including recitation of the Quran, Adhan (call to prayers), and Tawasheeh, on the road between Najaf and Karbala and elsewhere during the Arbaeen march.
This year’s convoy operates under the title of Imam Reza (AS) Convoy.
