Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly Chief Reappointed for New Term

IQNA – The secretary general of the Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly was reappointed to the post for another term.

Leader of the Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in a decree, reappointed Hojat-ol-Islam Reza Ramezani as the secretary general of the Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly.

Earlier, Hojat-ol-Islam Hassan Akhtari, the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) World Assembly, had presented a report in a letter addressed to Ayatollah Khamenei on the results of the Council’s vote on the individuals proposed for the position of secretary general.

Considering Hojat-ol-Islam Ramezani’s overwhelming vote, the Leader of the Revolution appointed him to the post for another term.

The Ahl-ul-Bayt World Assembly, according to its website, is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) that was established by a group of Shia elites under the supervision of the great Islamic authority of the Shias in 1990 to identify, organize, educate and support the followers of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
