Abbasi, who also serves as president of Al-Mustafa International University, made the remarks on Sunday during a meeting with the Imam of a major mosque in Burkina Faso. He said Al-Mustafa seeks to serve students and scholars of Islamic sciences from across the world.
He pointed to recent Israeli atrocities in Gaza, where thousands have been killed in Israeli attacks. Abbasi said, “innocent people, including women and children, have been massacred by this rebellious regime and its supporters,” while Islamic and Arab nations have remained largely silent.
He stressed that these events are not new. “The roots of these crimes go back 75 years, to the time when Western countries created this fake regime through their agreements,” he said.

He noted that for centuries, different ethnic groups and followers of various faiths had coexisted peacefully in the region, until Western governments pursued colonial domination.
Abbasi cited the British East India Company as an example, which gradually brought the Indian subcontinent under colonial control. He argued that “scientific progress in the West, alongside the backwardness of Muslims and the creation of divisions among Islamic communities, were the two main factors that enabled the policies of colonial powers.”
The cleric also referred to United Nations Security Council resolutions, saying Israel remains an occupying power in Palestinian territories. He listed displacement, killings, land confiscation, and imprisonment among decades of violations. Abbasi added that millions of Palestinian refugees continue to hope for a return to their homes.

“Without doubt, if governments and some nations cooperate with this fake regime, they will share responsibility in this historical crime,” he warned.
