Leaders of Arab and Islamic countries are gathering in Doha on Monday for an extraordinary summit hosted by Qatar. The meeting comes days after the Israeli regime carried out its first strike on Qatari soil, targeting senior Hamas officials. The attack killed several of their relatives and aides but failed to assassinate the group’s leadership. The move has drawn condemnation across the region.
Speaking before his departure for the summit on Monday, Pezeshkian said Israel “has no framework or limits for its actions” and warned that countries including Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, Iran, Yemen, and Iraq were exposed to such attacks.
He added that “the United States and some European countries unfortunately support these aggressions.”
The Iranian president described the situation in Gaza as a humanitarian disaster. “Genocide is taking place,” he said, noting that women, children, and the elderly were dying amid hunger and bombardment. He noted that Washington has enabled Israel through “its vetoes and support for the apartheid regime.”

Pezeshkian stressed that the summit should strengthen cooperation among Muslim countries. “Our main goal is to increase unity and solidarity so we can act forcefully in legal forums and international organizations against this regime,” he said.
He argued that if Muslim nations coordinate their efforts, they can impose practical measures in “economic, cultural, social, and communication fields” and ultimately cut ties with Israel. “If Muslims stand united,” he added, “the Zionist regime will not dare to pressure Islamic countries or trample international law so easily.”
