Pakistani Scholar Emphasizes Islamic Unity as Main Strategy against Israeli Plots
Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, a scholar who heads the Pakistan One-Way Commission, also known as the Pakistani Islamic Denominations Union, made the comments in an interview with IQNA on the sidelines of the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference, held in Tehran earlier this month.
He noted that the Pakistani Islamic Denominations Union is a private entity established with the help of all Islamic sects and that its main goal is to bring together the leaders of Islamic denominations.
Speaking about the situation in Gaza, Zubair said the war has preoccupied and concerned Muslims worldwide.
“Since the start of the war in Gaza, the people of Pakistan have pushed their government to take a stance and demanded practical support for Gaza,” he stated.
He added that the Pakistani public holds weekly demonstrations to protest the Israeli regime’s crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
Zubair singled out one nation for its role. “Iran is the only country that has provided practical support to Palestine and has presented many sacrifices and precious martyrs in this path,” he said. “Our demand is that other countries also offer practical support to Palestine.”
The scholar argued that unity is crucial because the ambitions of Zionist forces extend beyond Palestine. “Muslims must stand united against Israeli domination because the occupation of Palestine is not the only goal of the Zionists; they have covetous eyes on all Muslim countries,” Zubair emphasized. “Therefore, all Muslims must unite against this absolute evil.”
He also said that deviant groups have tried to influence people in Pakistan, but the country’s scholars are working to combat them. He said numerous books countering these groups have been translated from Arabic and Persian into Urdu to educate the youth.
Zubair mentioned his long-standing connections to Iran, dating back to the time of late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini (RA).

To underline the divine importance of unity and brotherhood among Muslims, he concluded his remarks by quoting verse 103 of Surah Al-Imran, “And hold fast to the Bond of Allah, together, and do not scatter. Remember the Favor of Allah bestowed upon you when you were enemies, and how He united your hearts, so that by His Favor you became brothers. And how He saved you from the Pit of Fire when you were on the brink of it. And so Allah makes plain to you His verses, in order that you will be guided.”
