Quranic Calligraphy Exhibition in Afghanistan

On the auspicious occasion of Imam Reza (AS) birth anniversary, a Quranic calligraphy exhibition is underway in Kabul, capital city of Afghanistan.
According to IQNA’s Central Asia chapter, it has been mounted in Imam Zaman (AS) Mosque in Pol Khoshk district of Kabul.
Seyyed Khadem Hossein Hashemi, who is in charge of the exhibition, said it was opened on Saturday, October 8. “As well as Quranic calligraphy works, the exhibition also features Quranic and Islamic artworks in different art categories like photos and painting. There is also a Quran competition section, a ‘Write a Letter to Imam Reza (AS)’ section, and an Islamic book section.”
He added that the exhibit aims to spread the Islamic culture and enhance national and Islamic unity, “which is the need of Afghan society today”.
Hashemi noted that such exhibitions would also further familiarize the people of the country with the life and teachings of Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS).
He went on to say that the exhibtion’s Quran competition was held on October 6-8 in the categories of Tahghigh and Tarteel recitation of the Quran.
