Palestinian officials said the school that came under attack by the Zionist regimes warplanes is in the Nuseirat refugee camp and belongs to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
They said at least 16 people were killed and tens of others were injured in the airstrike.
According to eye witnesses, a number of children were killed in the attack while reciting the Holy Quran at the school.
This is the fourth time the Zionist regime targets the school without prior warning, they said.
The injured, the vast majority of whom women and children, were transferred to al-Awda Hospital and Al-Aqsa Hospital.
More than 7,000 have taken refuge at the school, witnesses say.
The Zionist regime has claimed the presence of Hamas elements was the reason for the attack on the school, without offering further explanation or evidence.
Hamas condemned the Israeli massacre of defenseless civilians in the attack.
