Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari addressing an international conference in Malaysia

Addressing an international conference in Malaysia, Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari said with unity, Muslim states can play their role in a new world order and introduce Islamic ethics to the world.

The ‘Strategic Vision Group: Russia-Islamic world’ meeting was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday and Thursday with the participation of representatives from 32 countries and various international organizations and institutions.

Hojat-ol-Islam Shahriari also said the emergence of the new world order has challenged the US unipolar hegemony and led to the burgeoning of new regional and world powers that promises significant change.

Referring to the United States’ crimes and unilateralism that has led to the deaths of millions of innocent people in the world, he said the tools adopted for achieving peace after World War II have proven to be ineffective.

He said new mechanisms in which justice plays the principal role should be found to resolve international issues.

If global justice becomes the supreme principle in the world, it will be possible to achieve international security, and each country's national interests will be served, but if interests and security are achieved by using unjust means, everyone will be harmed, he said.
