In her speech, Khodadadi referred to Iran’s achievements in the field of gender justice and said the Islamic Republic of Iran, relying on Islamic values, has taken effective steps towards improving the status of women and achieving gender justice, and has achieved significant achievements by empowering women in various dimensions.
“Today, more than 60 percent of Iranian university graduates are women, and Iranian women play a role in various fields, including medicine, engineering, law, humanities, information technology, and art.”
Also, she said, by enacting progressive laws in the field of women’s rights, the Islamic Republic of Iran has provided a suitable platform for improving the economic and social status of women.
In the field of health, she said, comprehensive programs have been implemented to improve maternal health and reduce maternal and infant mortality, and Iran is one of the leading countries in the region.
“In the political and diplomatic arena, women’s participation in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, city and village councils, and decision-making institutions is evidence of the strengthening of women’s role in decision-making processes. Women entrepreneurs also play a key role in developing new businesses, especially in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, and e-commerce.”
Referring to the oppressive sanctions against the country and its effects on Iranian women, she stated, “The achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran face serious obstacles on the path to full realization of gender justice (as) unilateral and illegal sanctions, which are in clear conflict with the United Nations Charter and humanitarian principles, have imposed profound restrictions on the development and progress of Iranian women.”

Elsewhere in her remarks, she referred to the Israeli regime’s genocide of the people of Gaza and said, “When we talk about women’s rights, it is better to note that in a part of the world, namely Palestine and Gaza, all human rights red lines have been violated and all women, men, and children are facing genocide in the worst way and are deprived of their basic and human rights.”
