The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque announced on Friday that a total of 53,572,983 worshippers and visitors were received at the Two Holy Mosques in that period.
According to the authority, the Grand Mosque welcomed 17,560,004 worshippers, including 91,753 who prayed in the Hijr Ismail (Al-Hatim), while the number of Umrah performers reached 12,146,516.
At the Prophet’s Mosque, 20,701,560 worshippers were recorded during the same month, including 1,002,049 in Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah.
In addition, 2,071,101 visitors offered their salutations to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The authority noted that it employs advanced sensor-based technology to monitor worshipper and Umrah numbers at the main entrances of the two mosques.
