According to a report by Al-Watan, Khaled Sultan, a Palestinian youth, returned to the ruins of his family home that had been demolished by Israeli forces. As he sifted through the debris, his eyes were filled with mixed feelings of joy, sorrow, and fear, his heart pounding as he approached what was once a place of memories and dreams.
Sultan described walking through the rubble where his childhood once unfolded, recalling the warm nights his family spent together. Amid the devastation, he suddenly found what he called a divine sign — a copy of the Holy Quran that had survived the destruction untouched.
He recited the verse that appeared on the open page:
“So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him, and that is the great success.” (Surah At-Tawbah, verse 111)
Sultan said this verse felt like “a message from God,” affirming that the sacrifices of Palestinians — their homes and loved ones — were not in vain but part of a path toward “a great victory.”
Standing among the wreckage, he raised his hands in gratitude and said, “Our house has been destroyed, but I thank God. I can’t believe I’ve returned home. Our house in northern Gaza was reduced to rubble, yet I’m happy to be here. For me, this is more precious than all the palaces in the world.”
