IQNA – Iran’s representative in the first international Quran competition of Pakistan returned home on Friday.

Adnan Momenin came second in the international Quranic event, which was held in Islamabad on November 24 to 29.

After being honored at the closing ceremony of this event, the Iranian qari had styed there to recite the Quran in some Quranic gatherings in various cities, including Karachi.

Momenin, along with Iranian Quran master Gholam Reza Shahmiveh Esfahani who served as a member of the competition’s jury, arrived at the Imam Khomeini International Airport this morning and was welcomed by a number of Quran reciters.

A total of 37 countries participated in the first international Quran competition of Pakistan, bringing together leading Qaris under the auspices of the South Asian country’s Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Aiman Ridhwan Bin Mohammad Ramlan of Malaysia won the top rank in the contest and the third-place winner was Abdul Rasheed from the host country.

The competition was seen as a milestone in Pakistan’s religious and cultural diplomacy, showcasing its commitment to promoting the art of Quran recitation.

It aimed to encourage young Muslims worldwide to deepen their connection to the Quran.
