IQNA – The ‘Caravan of Narratives’ event will be held in Tehran next week simultaneously with the days of the Arbaeen procession.

Hamed Fathalikhani, the secretary of the ‘Caravan of Narratives’ event

Hamed Fathalikhani, the event’s secretary, made the announcement, saying in the first phase of the ‘Caravan of Narratives’ event, more than 40 international pilgrims, cultural and social activists, artists and writers, researchers, and professors from the seminary and university will deliver speeches.

He said the purpose is to tell the message of the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS) through the voices of diverse narrators.

“We believe that every Arbaeen pilgrim is a narrator. This event is an opportunity to share the pure experiences, life lessons, and the many and all-encompassing impacts of Arbaeen from the perspectives of diverse speakers.”

He said Arbaeen is not just a collective movement but is a global wave of love, sacrifice, and a message of justice.

“Millions of people from different cultures and nationalities participate in this huge walk every year, but many of the profound narratives and experiences of this journey remain untold,” he stated.

“If we want Arbaeen to survive as an educational and social school, we must pay attention to scientific research and articles as valid documents. Compiling a database of Arbaeen research, supporting researchers, and transforming scientific findings into practical programs are essential steps to institutionalize the Arbaeen culture in the world.”

Arbaeen is the world’s largest peaceful march and a showcase of unparalleled human unity, from humanitarian aid to selfless hospitality, he said. “Telling these stories sets a model for a society based on kindness and cooperation.”

Fathalikhani noted that sometimes, the hostile media presents a distorted image of Arbaeen and first-hand accounts from pilgrims and researchers are the best answer to these distortions.

“Many of the experiences of Arbaeen are a guiding light for truth seekers around the world,” he emphasized.

Arbaeen is a religious event observed by Shia Muslims on the fortieth day after the Day of Ashura, commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the third Shia imam.

It is one of the largest annual pilgrimages in the world, with millions of Shia Muslims, as well as many Sunnis and followers of other religions, walking to Karbala from various cities in Iraq and neighboring countries. This year, the day of Arbaeen will fall on August 14.
