Hojat-ol-Islam Hojat Salari, head of South Khorasan Province’s Islamic Propagation Office, spoke at a parents-teachers meeting in the eastern city of Birjand.
He stressed that divine morality, faith, and Islamic education should be central to child-rearing.
“What we learn from the lifestyle of divine leaders and the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) is that divine ethics, religious devotion, and Islamic upbringing are the priorities in raising children within their school of thought,” he said.
Salari referenced a saying from Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam, who advised his son to begin by teaching children the Book of Allah, and stressed that the foundation of education in Ahl-ul-Bayt’s (AS) tradition is learning divine laws and the Quran, which must be the cornerstone of family and school upbringing programs.
The cleric also cited a prayer by Imam Sajjad (AS), the fourth Shia Imam, who described righteous children as a blessing for parents.

“The Imam (AS) emphasized three key pillars for balanced human development: physical health, faith, and ethics,” he noted.
“Physical health, faith, and morality form the essential trio for human growth and excellence,” Salari emphasized. “Any deficiency in these areas—especially in religious commitment, which can lead to eternal loss—is a grave misfortune. It must be prevented through repentance and returning to God’s path.”
