The competition will be held in the Russian capital of Moscow from October 15 to 18.
Es’haq Abdollahi, a distinguished qari from Qom province, will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran in the contest.
He is also a muezzin of the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA) and Jamkaran Mosque.
He has been selected to participate in this global competition as Iran’s representative by the Committee for Inviting and Dispatching Reciters.
Last year, came fifth in the men’s section of the 47th National Quran Competition of Iran in Tabriz.
Abdollahi, who is a Quran teacher, has also won first place in the national Basij and Red Crescent competitions. Among other ranks of this young reciter, he, as a representative of the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (SA), won fourth place in the recitation category in the third round of the Karbala Prize International Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition.

Russia’s Quran contest, known as the Moscow Quran reciting competition, has been held annually since 2000. Since year 2007 the competition became international.
Last year, in the 22nd edition, Quran memorizer Mohammad Rasool Takbiri was present as a representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran but failed to win a rank.
In this year's event, Iran is only sending a representative in the category of Quran recitation.
