Accompanied by Amin Myosu, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, and local representatives, she inspected the preparations for the opening ceremony, visited the exhibition halls and Quran teaching classes, and participated in the ritual of sending blessings on the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) with local residents and women’s groups.
The museum was built with financial support of more than 182 million baht and cooperation from the Southern Border Provinces Administration Center (SBPAC) and the Department of Fine Arts.
The museum houses about 70 rare manuscripts of the Quran, some of which are up to 860 years old.
The manuscripts have been collected from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, and Yemen.
The museum and adjacent educational center aim to preserve the religious and cultural heritage of southern Thai Muslims and promote intercultural and interfaith dialogue.
