Bangladesh Int’l Quran Contest: Iranian Qari Finishes Runner-Up

IQNA – Iran’s representatives were among top winners in the fourth international Quran competition of Bangladesh.

Iranian qari Is’haq Abdollahi and memorizer Mehdi Barandeh respectively came second and fourth in the recitation and memorization categories of the fourth international Quran competition of Bangladesh (December 2025)

 

Is’haq Abdollahi, who competed for Iran in the category of Quran recitation was the winner of the second rank in this category.

Also, Iranian memorizer Mehdi Barandeh came fourth in the category of memorization of the entire Quran.

The competition was held from December 18 to 20 in Dhaka, the capital of the South Asian country, with the participation of qaris and memorizers from 30 countries.

The participating countries included Iran, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, India, Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Algeria, Brunei, Kuwait, and Tanzania.

Barandeh has previously won the top ranking in the 45th edition of the international Quran competition of Saudi Arabia.

And Abdollahi’s previous achievements include coming first in Russia’s 23rd International Quran contest.

After attending various Quran circles in Bangladesh this week, the two will return to Iran on Saturday.
